Welcome to human darkness with Unhealthy Dreams: five tracks that glorify dark electro industrial and black experimental music. It is such as a dark fairy tale about human’s decay and mankind’s torments. This opus called “Doloris Corpus” and it is the third release of the band after “Vatican Armageddon” demo (1999) and “Nightmares give way to Apocalypse” cd (2003). Everything is ok to form an opinion about this stuff: music parts as production and mastering. The whole is polished and came off. A self release is still a delicate piece of work and Unhealthy Dreams turn the test into a success. But at the same time they could do much more with a better professional recording. It is true that “Doloris Corpus” could sound more powerfully than it is there even if it is already satisfying. Thus, you can hope for a excellent release with their next recording. Therefore, “Doloris Corpus” is such as a step before a master-work. The compositions are various enough and ingenious in this way to make the whole very attractive. If you are used to black metal and electro-indus music, you will be very likely to enjoy this opus. I found nothing bad in this musical work. So, I hope that Unhealthy Dreams will be able to convince with a full length opus in future.

Here is the 2nd full length from this Dutch band after ‘Geist ist teufel’ and still no middle-ground :just extreme music. This is the kind of record when you play it for the first time, either you think it is utter garbage meant to be thrown away,or it is a masterpiece album that will grow on you with several listenings.Well, let’s say it for once :this is a masterpiece.Like I said,no middle-ground :either you like it or you just hate it. The album opens with a really dark piece mixing classical/orchestral and ambient music lasting 13 minutes. The overall rhythm of the album is rather slow, not mid-paced but slow riffing, sometimes simple but very efficient. No demonstration here, just authenticity and rawness. To my eyes, this release functions around a ‘no middle-ground’ system and the vocals are here to prove me right. As far as I’m concerned,it is one of the best points of Urfaust. It alternates between clean vocals, unusual for this style of music, very emphatic and dramatic, and haunted high-pitched vocals that creates the best of effects. The band is just losing it,on the edge of madness.Reject or adhere. The band dares to experiment, they don’t seek to please anyone else other than themselves and that is an evidence when listening to track 5 ‘Verflucht das Blenden der Erscheinung’ : the riffing is mixed with industrial noises that blow your mind straight away,as well as your speakers. Standout tracks are the long intro standing as the calm before the storm, track 2 ‘Ragnarök Mystiker’ being the storm, and track 5 which I told about. A great album of deranged black/dark/ambient.Check out their first album tooTheir side project Planet Aids (on the same label Goatowarex) is also worth mentionning :they perform ultra-slow doom mixed with ambient/noise influences. No middle-ground,extreme stuff, integrity without compromise.

Three years after the precedent album, « Unlished »releases his new opus. With « Midvinterblot », the four swedish men show us that they don’t have lessons to receive from anybody. They’re affirmed once more under their own steam. An excellent production, a divin layout, we understand that the band didn’t change the strategy of communication. From the start, we note the remarkable sound, all the instruments are in harmony. The surprising melodies lead the tempos varied enough throughout the 15 titles. The solos enrich the rhythmics with wonder.Nothing is left with chance and there is no useless superfluous ! The deep voice of the charismatic singer accompanies the music lead by battle rhythmics. Every title brings its personnality to the album, the principal topic is the Scandinavian mythology. A return to the source for the nostalgics. Unlished is and will remain the Scandinavian reference… The epic go on, unlished is far from the decadence …
