White Dolls : s/t (Fabrice / Richard / 18 track) by HssH. White Dolls is a band from France. Their music is a mix of extreme noise and industrial music with a lot of electro rythms parts. Imagine old noises from Atari games mixed with noises taken from factory machines. Add distortion on sick vocals and extreme hammered rythms. They hammer in all tracks ! It’s not very easy listening when you don’t know this kind of music. Don’t expect sweet melodies ! Don’t expect melodies ! I would describe their art such as cerebral oppressive music without compromise. You will love it or you will hate it in my opinion. Listen to Prelude to an electronic disaster or Ariman take control of my screen and Super central psychik to be sure of that. Most of tracks are instrumental versions with apocalyptic variations of a modern and industrial world : Mediatrauma, Climax, Cerebral Damage and Hierarchie I seem to be be explicit about it. No feeling, no joy, no hope ! Just Blood, Shell and Ruin. Excellent stuff ! This is the kind of bands we like with Diahableries. Dark and sick ! To be continued !

Tist video game. 23 tracks this time for 73.23 minutes of noises adjusted to a musical mechanic filled with oddities. “Electronik Disaster”, also “Ruin Creator Program” are the perfect words to understand this stuff. Technoïd bombs and other hammered noises mixed with saturated robots voices on electronic rhythmics should sum up the whole of this material. Thus, you could enjoy this opus if you listen to Muckrackers records or hard tech and harsh noise music (They did a split stuff with Muckrackers, did you know ?). Also, you will be not disappointed if you liked their first “s/t” opus. I reviewed it, so feel free to read this first review if you didn’t. “Electronik Disaster v2.0” is the continuation : still oppressive, crazy and wild. It is an interesting second chapter of White Dolls univers. When you listen to “Rituel 28” song for instance, you understand that it’s a perfect warning like an anthem for your nightmares and all tracks bring the same dark and sick feeling. The production is quite better than their “s/t” release in my opinion and the parts have a better result because it is less repetitive and more inventive. So, you may be shaked with a first listening. May be more with a second listening ! All you have to do now is listen to “Electronik Disaster v2.0”. A great release and an awesome record ! This is enough to say. his stuff is the second release of this French band after their “s/t” opus. White Dolls do no choose melodies to convey their art but they use a lot of different noises sampled on industrial parts such as a sound track of a bizarre dark and fetish

We are rapidly thrown into the core of the action after an introduction on drums. Instead of blasts, the very melodic rhythmic parts create a nice atmosphere. After an instrumental as opening tune, the “black” voice of Toxine invites us into HIS dark universe with thrashy rhythms. It’s quite pleasant to listen to this album which is on the whole based on mid-tempos. “Ashes” reminds me of the Swiss band Samael, and I like this comparison. This is actually my favourite track. This is a good album but something seems to be missing??? The band did a good work with the composition. The bass appears to be more than a rhythmic tool here. So on the whole this is a good album, but it tends to be a bit too repetitive.

This band plays industrial rock metal which reminds me of Muse with more corrosive parts. Other elements remind of Static X which could be a strong influence for Wormachine. Take a look at the wonderful lay-out and you will understand why ! A lot of sounds seems to be taken from industrial underworld music and it is mixed with strong heavy guitars. Nothing is hazardous with this recording. The production is very impressive and efficient. Everything done with professionalism. The digipack comes with a booklet which could dissuade you to download it. And what about music ? They use a lot of machines, programms and so you know why they call it Wormachine. This is not music that I could listen to every days but it does matter to me. Everything take a place there because all parts are done with perfection. I can’t avoid likening it to Muse even if their music is quite different. The thread of this opus take us away in a world with strange feeling where snappy melancholy is living. You feel it with a lot of parts of this record. But there are many things which join with industrial parts too. It is not new but pleasant because Wormachine found his identity by developing a high sound quality with a lot of emotions into melodies. They have a good press at this time and it’s justified. They will be reward for their work in my opinion. I add that they come from France and I recommend you to discover this opus when you still do not have an experience with their art.
