Xicon
is the kind of bands that bangs indisputably your head. A mix
of heavy thrash and gothic emotions for your dance floors. As
bewitching as catchy. Listen to the second track “All flesh
and Smoke” to be sure of this first sensation. Then, let
you be drived with the sequel of this mastered opus. Five musicians
joined for “Theogony” and it’s a success because
everything is ok, production as well as music parts. Xicon’s
musicians come from different bands and played also different
kind of musics from rock to funk and from metal to Classical music.
Thus, Xicon was born from “The Nightshade” that got
an international name since nine years. Therefore, Xicon began
with an original mark. Powerful guitars, also hammered and dancing
rhythms mixed with sophisticated keybords samples and I don’t
forget that voice that remember me of some Disharmonic Orchestra’s
vocals parts sometimes. All of these ingredients come after mature
reflection, really. Nothing to say but an excellent sutff ! At
last, take notice of Ludovic Loez (Supuration, S.U.P.) contribution
on “Pandora”. It sounds like a “Dreadful Shadows”,
maybe a “Shadow Project” cover. David Bowie is not
so far behind. “Theogony” recorded, mixed and produced
by Patrick Aeby and Dom Favez (ex-Krokus) and mastered by Christoph
Stickel (Oomph!, Gotthard, Guano Apes) at MSM studios in Germany.
So, I recommend you this gem unhesitatingly.
